Minesweeper is a classic puzzle game where you must clear a rectangular board containing hidden "mines" or bombs without detonating any of them, with help from clues about the number of neighboring mines in each field.
Game Rules
- The Numbers: When you click a cell, it reveals a number. This number tells you how many mines are adjacent to that cell (including diagonals).
- Flagging: If you're sure a cell contains a mine, right-click it to put a flag. This helps you track remaining mines and prevents accidental clicks.
- Winning: You win the game by revealing all cells that do NOT contain mines.
- Losing: The game ends immediately if you click a cell that contains a mine.
Levels of Difficulty
- Beginner: 9x9 grid with 10 mines. Perfect for learning the ropes.
- Intermediate: 16x16 grid with 40 mines. A solid challenge for regular players.
- Expert: 16x30 grid with 99 mines. Only for the most dedicated minesweepers!
Minesweeper Strategies
Don't just guess! Use these logical patterns to clear the board safely:
- The 1-2-1 Pattern: If you see a 1, a 2, and a 1 in a row against a straight edge of unrevealed cells, the cells against the 1s are mines, and the one against the 2 is safe.
- Corner Logic: Often, the corners of the safe areas provide the most definitive clues.
- Trust the Math: If a "1" already has one flag touching it, all other unrevealed cells touching that "1" are guaranteed to be safe.
